About the event
Listening Session for UK-based Scholars
January 8 at 4pmGMT/ 11am EST/ 9am MST/ 8am PT
The Journal of British Studies will host a listening session for UK-based scholars of British Studies on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 4pm GMT. Since much of our readership and many of our submissions come from the UK, JBS would like to hear more about the current academic climate in the UK and the unique publishing challenges this poses. The editors would also like to make themselves available to answer questions about JBS’s move to Open Access (at no charge to authors), online only, and continuous publication. The event will take place live online and will not be recorded. It is open to all scholars of British Studies at any stage of their career but it primarily geared to those working in the UK. This event is co-sponsored by the Institute for Historical Research, the Royal Historical Society, and the Centre for Modern British Studies (Birmingham).
