Lisa M. Lane is a historian, retired college history instructor, and fiction author. Academic interests include Victorian technologies, the early works of H. G. Wells, and the history of distance education. She recently published H. G. Wells on Science Education, 1886-1897, an annotated collection of Wells’s early articles on science teaching. As a fiction writer, she enjoys putting flesh on the bones of the past. Her novel Before the Time Machine featured a modern historian, a young Wells, and the conversations they have across time and space. Erin Fetterly is a historian, researcher, and writer from Ontario, Canada. She is currently doing her PhD with Birkbeck, University of London where she also received her MA in British history. She published her first book “Women Who Kill: A History of Britain’s Most Dangerous Women” with Pen and Sword Books in 2024 and in June of this year it won the True Crime Awards Reader’s Choice book of the Year. Her interests are focused primarily on Britain and include women’s history and the histories of knowledge, writing, medicine, science and crime.
