ACLS Awards NACBS & NAVSA 2026 Intention Foundry Microgrant

The North American Conference on British Studies (NACBS) and the North American Victorian Studies Association (NAVSA) are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $25,000 microgrant from the Intention Foundry program of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). The microgrants support efforts by ACLS member societies that address the social, intellectual, and financial precarity scholars currently face. You can read the full grant announcement here.

The grant will support precariously employed early career scholars through in-person networking and professionalization opportunities at our concurrent conferences, as well as ongoing mentoring opportunities. On November 12-15, both organizations will host our annual meetings in Pasadena, CA. The ACLS IF microgrant will provide support to bring together ECRs from both our organizations for a work-in-progress workshop and a hosted networking session where ECRs can meet senior scholars, journal editors, librarians, and other relevant professionals.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information on the program and instructions on how to apply.
