Early Modern Rebellion, Dissent, and/or Martyrization
Hi everyone. I am looking to create a panel centered around early modern rebellion and/or martyrization. My paper proposal focuses on the 17th century Monmouth Rebellion with a bit on Argyll's Rebellion as well, subsequent executions, and later interpretations of martyrs that grew out of these events. It will also include analysis of the works of Daniel Defoe and his emphasis on the role of religious dissenters in the rebellions.
